MotionYoga

Hi! My name is Lori Torchia and after practicing yoga for 30 years, I decided to become a yoga instructor. I received my yoga teacher training and 200 hour RYT certificate through the Chopra Center, in Carlsbad, California, in June 2009. I completed my chair yoga certification in Vista, California, at Yoga Vista Academy, in March 2012. Also during that year I became certified in both seniors and restorative yoga in Toronto, taking many workshops along the way, bringing my total training hours to 300. I'm presently an E-RYT 300 (experienced) yoga teacher and I still take the odd workshop, "learning is what keeps the mind young!" I focus my practice on gentle, healing yoga for all levels, with an emphasis on over fifty and seniors. I teach chair and mat yoga in Toronto at libraries, churches, community and senior centers.

In Motion-Yoga our bodies move in several directions, strengthening our spine, lubricating our joints, improving blood flow and cellular renewal. The benefits are immediate, relieving tension and stiffness, increasing flexibility and balance, leaving you with an overall feeling of wellbeing.

Remember, "motion is lotion!"

That's me with Ida Herbert, taken in 2013, when she was 96 and awarded the distinction from the Guinness World Records, as the oldest yoga teacher at that time.
